Pain

Pain is in the cries on the birth of a child.
Pain is in the air, in the seas, in the wild.
Pain is in the dusk and in the hour of dawn,
Pain is in malice, in envy, in scorn.
Pain is in the tears of every needy eye,
Pain is in a bird’s mournful cry.
Pain is joy, pain is sorrow
Pain is in the hope of a bright tomorrow.
Pain is in the resort of the old and in firm
Pain is in the struggle of a beast in harm.
Pain is the feeling of helplessness
Pain is in suspicion and faithlessness.
Pain shows victory, peace and relief
Pain breaks trust and gains belief.
Pain is in the last breath of a life unsaved,
Pain is in the words on a grave engraved!
